Family Picture
Thanks to Charisse for taking our first family pictures for us! I'm really bad at this blogging stuff, but somehow I figured out how to add it! We aren't very good at the family picture thing. It kinda figures that as soon as we get one taken, it doesn't stay "current" for very long... WE ARE EXPECTING!! I'm only 11 weeks along (due at the end of August)., but we are so excited! I haven't been quite as sick with this one as I was with Jane, but I have been so exhausted it seems unreal. Well worth it though. Thad and I feel so blessed to be having another baby, and have no doubt that Jane will be the best big sister ever, as her adoration for babies is apparent with every one she encounters.

Hawaii Trip January 2009
Jane and I just got back from a fabulous week in Hawaii! Oh yeah, Thad came too:) Unfortunately for him, though, it was a business trip. So while Thad was working 15 hour days, Jane and I were basking in the sun at the beach, eating pineapple, and shopping! One of Thad's co-corkers brought his wife and two kids, so Jane was in heaven that she had someone to romp around with all day besides just mom. Here's just a few pictures of us at the dole plantation, the beach, and the PCC.

NO PEANUTS PLEASE!
So today I decided to give Jane a peanut butter sandwich for lunch. Bad idea. Turns out, she's allergic. Yeah, those are hives all over her body. The swelling of her ears has gone down a little bit, but they got HUGE. She just seems miserable too. Needless to say, I'm not quite feeling like the mother of the year, either. I'm just grateful it wasn't any worse. The doctor gave her steriods for the next five days and he said the hives should be gone in the next couple days. We are now a peanut free family.

France

Guten tag! Thad and I are still enjoying Germany. The other day we did get a chance to hop over the border and spend a day in Paris, France! There was so much to see there. It's impossible to do it all in one day, but we wore our running shoes, so I think we saw most of it:)
Things are still going well here for us. Thad's shipments are now scheduled to arrive Thursday at 8am, so after that, his job will start to go much better. It has been really nice for us to be able to spend so much time together, though. Jane took her first steps right before we left the states and now is walking all over the place with her daddy's encouragement!
We have two weeks left here, and while we are enjoying our time here, I am looking forward to coming home to where I don't have to hang dry my clothes, hand wash all my dishes, and to have a hair dryer that works! ( I blew mine up the first day we were here, and yes, I did use a converter)
Tschüß!!

Weilerbach

Well, this is it. This is our apartment that we are staying in here in Weilerbach. It's the balcony on the top right side. There are three guys on Thad's crew staying in the bigger apartment on the left side. Down below us is a restaurant that is open Friday through Sunday. The owners don't speak much english, but they are so friendly and LOVE Jane. Whenever we try to talk she always talks about how cute and smiley Jane is. We ate there on Saturday night and she brought out some toys for Jane to play with. The bottom picture is the south view from our place. It is such a beautiful countryside here. We are just west of town. The past few days we've been able to do some sight seeing around Germany. Unfortunately for Thad (but fortunately for me :) ) his shipments have been stuck in customs for two weeks so they haven't been able to start work. That means we've had a lot of free time. Today we went to Heidelberg. WOW! It was beautiful there. Thad's computer is kind of slow, so I only have the patience to put up a couple of pictures a day, but I promise, they're coming! I'll have about 12 hours a day to myself out here in the country once Thad starts working, so I'm sure I'll be putting plenty of pictures up:)

Germany
We finally made it! Thad, Jane and I are in Germany! Woo hoo! We're in a little town called Weilerbach just outside of the Ramstein Air force base. Actually, we're just outside of the little town out in the country. We have an apartment over a restaurant that is only open Friday through Sunday. It is so beautiful here. We finally got an internet connection just yesterday, so I haven't had a chance to put any pictures up yet. Tomorrow Thad and his crew start work, so things should slow down a little bit for me and I'll put pictures up as soon as I can. I said I'd be keeping in touch via the blog and email, so this is me saying a quick "hi" to everyone!

The photo shoot

I took Jane to get her pictures taken and it was quite the experience. She would not smile at the lady taking her picture, so we got quite a few serious poses. I was trying to play with her to get her to smile, and the lady snapped a shot of it. So here we are; Jane with her serious look, and me with no make up on and I didn't do my hair that morning. It was one of the few ones that she wasn't crying or terribly worried in. Even still.. what a cutie Jane is!
